Today I decided to get organized — and as you’ll see (and be pleasantly surprised) I already had all my ingredients ready, because this recipe is very special. I make it all year round, but now I wanted to give it a slightly more festive twist and dedicate it to those of you who love making handmade sweets to gift to your loved ones!
Let’s make super easy vegan orange cookies with chocolate chips and fresh orange peel!
Ingredients
- 200 ml sunflower oil
- 200 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
- 200 g brown sugar
- 1 packet baking powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1–2 cups all-purpose flour (as needed)
- Peel from 1 fresh orange
- Dark chocolate chips or chopped couverture chocolate
Instructions
- Mix the oil, orange juice, and sugar together.
- Add the baking powder, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add flour until you have a soft dough.
- Stir in the orange peel.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Shape the dough into cookies and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C until lightly golden.
Tips
- Don’t overdo the flour — you want a soft, tender dough.
- Finely chop the orange peel and avoid the bitter white pith.
Packaging for Gifts
Once they’ve cooled, I wrapped them up as little Christmas gifts. Because if you’re one of those who enjoy a little sweet “hard work” during the holidays… this recipe is for you! 🎁
